St Margaret’s Hospital Feedback

  1. Outpatient care/CDC development plan

Outstanding care in many outpatient appointments for my husband, myself and son. Years with audiology for complex mixed hearing loss in conjunction with 2 other hospitals.I made a referral to adult neurology 5/1/24 after no action by GP for months and my son was seen face to face on a Saturday during the doctor strike 6/1/24. The breast screening/family history unit reviewed my family’s complex history 1/8/23 and supplied proactive written health education. We recommend the Macmillan booklets. It was an honour to meet specialists, contribute to future research (help us to help many), make gifts to the NHS by donating blood and promoting future developments across the multidisciplinary team. We encourage others to attend mobile screening units and seek help from a health professional for reassurance or fast track cancer referral. We have attended many scans e.g. ultrasound, Xray, MRI and blood tests. Staff and families working together to develop future cost effective 1 stop screening units with AI to reduce queues, complications and death. 7 day NHS. Easy to find where to go with colour boards and signs. I was born there, had surgeries as an inpatient and the staff show great understanding of sight/hearing loss/mobility disabilities. Free parking.Thank you.

  2. Quick breast cancer diagnoses

Breast Unit. Great service when first diagnosed with breast cancer although had to chase chemo an radiotherapy… After care could be better..
[Service could be improved by] Not being made to feel that as a cancer patience that you are being a nuisance when you have side effects from treatment .. such as cyst or lumps .. Aftercare really needs improving and more understanding..
