1. Awful pharmacy

   I am deeply disappointed by the conduct of this pharmacy. Today, Savages Pharmacy chose to publish a photograph of a vulnerable local man, and ex veteran, someone widely known in the community to have significant mental health difficulties and to be under active involvement from additional services — in order to publicly shame him. Instead of showing basic compassion or safeguarding awareness, they posted his photo online along with an accusation, turned off the comments when residents expressed concern, and left the post up.

   For a healthcare provider, this is an alarming lapse in judgement. A pharmacy should understand confidentiality, dignity, and the duty of care owed to vulnerable adults. Publicly identifying and shaming someone who is clearly unwell is not only inappropriate but shows a worrying lack of professional responsibility.

   Unfortunately, this incident reflects wider issues. For a pharmacy responsible for supplying an entire town, Savages is frequently out of essential medication and often unable to meet the needs of patients who rely on them. This latest decision has made it clear that service quality and ethical standards are not being prioritised.

   I cannot support a pharmacy that treats vulnerable community members this way, and I will be taking my business elsewhere. I hope serious reflection takes place, because Burnham-on-Crouch deserves better from its healthcare providers.
