NHS 111 Feedback
alienated because i am neurodivergent veteran
Summary of Events:
On February 16, I was in contact with the charity Combat Stress, and they wrongly contacted 111 for welfare check. Despite explicitly informing the 111 service that I am a veteran with AuDHD, the call handler showed a total lack of understanding of my neurodivergence and military background.
This resulted in an unnecessary escalation to the police who breeched my house . Upon arrival, the police found that I had full mental capacity. During this incident, the police caused damage to my front door, which remains broken; furthermore, an officer removed a piece of my door, which I view as the theft of property. I was not provided with any medical paperwork or assessment, despite having a known arrhythmia and suffering from a concussion that lasted five days as a result of the encounter. Crucially, I have not yet been able to report this incident to my GP, as the trauma of the event and the subsequent systemic silence have made it impossible for me to navigate further medical interaction.
My Concerns:
Failure of Care: The 111 service failed to appropriately triage a veteran with known neurodivergence, leading to a traumatic police intervention.
Lack of Accountability: I have attempted to contact PALS, secondary mental health services, and Op COURAGE, but I am currently being met with silence or refusal to engage.
Pathologization: I believe there is an institutional bias that incorrectly treats military conditioning as a pathology (ASPD) rather than recognizing the specific needs of veterans.
Safety and Impact: My home is currently insecure due to the damaged door. I am also currently unable to access necessary medical support because the lack of response from services has created an environment where I feel unsafe seeking help.
Desired Outcome:
I am requesting:
A formal response explaining the clinical justification for the 111 escalation.
An urgent review of my access to mental health care, as I am currently being excluded from services.
Guidance on how to resolve the physical damage to my property caused by this state intervention and the return of my property taken by the police.

Took 8 hours fo a doctor to get back to us
We rang 111 on Saturday 8th December at 5.20pm as my mother was struggling to breathe with an oncoming chest infection and needed antibiotics . We were told to keep the phone line clear and a doctor would ring back within an hour . after 2 hours we rang again and they had lost records of the 1st call so had to go through the whole procedure again , Again we were told a doctor would call within an hour . in fact he called at 1.15am by which time we had fallen asleep . this was 8 hours after the original call . At 5am when my mother woke she rang again to be told once again a doctor would ring and they haven’t . We have ended up going to the walk in surgery at Colchester , waiting nearly 3 hours and then the same again at A and E . Both the walk in and A and E were superb
