  1. A&E visit, sent to Ambulatory for follow-up

    The doctors and nurses in there were all fantastic. They were kind, friendly and all very helpful. The doctors investigated me thoroughly and gave me excellent advice regarding my next steps. I am incredibly grateful to all the hardworking staff there. I am extremely grateful for being given follow-up advice for what to do after my visit. My health condition requires a long-term health care plan and the doctor explained so clearly what had happened to me and what I should do next in order to secure my safety.

  2. Great service of the A&E team.

    Couldn’t be happier with the prompt and generous care I received when I came in with a very serious lung infection. [What was good about the service? How do you think this service could be improved? – HWE] Can’t suggest any improvements, my care was exceptional and the speed of delivery was amazing. Thank you all.

We would like to thank you for taking the time to feedback about your experience in the A&E Department at Basildon Hospital and will share your kind words with staff as appropriate.

  4. Delays in follow ups

    Rheumatology Department. Supposed to be seen every 2 months owing to drugs being used but nearly six months between consultations due to cancelled appointments by hospital. Seems as though outsourced service has not got requisite knowledge of conditions so just cancel and puts to back of list regardless. System should return to local department who knows requirements.

      We’re very sorry to hear of the difficulties you’ve been having with your Rheumatology follow up apartment.   5. Excellent treatment from everyone at A&E

    All of the staff are wonderful – receptionists, nurses and consultants. I was in the department overnight and received the very best care and attention from start to finish.
    Seating in the waiting area is very uncomfortable when you are ill and have to wait for a long time

  6. Waited over an hour to be seen

    Received a cancellation appointment for the next day. Arrived, waited over an hour to be seen, it was really quiet. get seen quicker when its busy. Service has changed so much was a lot better when you where seen by the doctor and then had your mammogram at the same appointment. Now have to take two mornings/afternoons off work as they are done on different days now

Failed to prescribe compression garments for my sons LYMPHOEDEMA, failed to prescribe antibiotics to keep cellulitis under control, placing patient at risk of septacemia.Registerar stated you have LYMPHOEDEMA and there is nothing we can do, resulted in me discussing inadequate unprofessional service with consultant and asked to be referred to st Georges tooting under professor Mortimer. Now receiving correct & appropriate treatment for the condition. MASSIVE FAIL on the part of NHS se Essex & Southend hospital.
