Very patronising and no information given
My mother was diagnosed with dementia. It was very perfunctory; no information given on what happens now. The two persons ( and one student) who told us this had an incredibly patronising tone, like they were talking to recalcitrant children rather than adults. They also spent a great deal of time talking amongst themselves, rather than addressing the people in the room! There was no sense that they cared about the fact that they were giving life-changing information to people. They ended by giving a print-out of some over-jargonated description of dementia to us, which unless you have a medical degree or specialist knowledge, was absolutely useless at providing any actual useful information. Utterly unimpressed.
