We’re delighted to introduce our new Young Fellas’ Forum, a laid-back monthly meet-up for young men across Colchester to connect, have a laugh, and chat about whatever’s on your mind!
Our new forum is for young men age 17 to 25. Our meet ups will be based in Colchester in different venues, but you’re welcome to attend from across Essex. Activities will include walks, sports, gaming, BBQs and more, with food provided for each forum!
We’ve been running Fellas’ Forums across Essex since 2021 (visit this page to find out more about the things our forums have done), but this is our first forum specifically for younger men.
Why should you join?
- A chance to meet new people – Men who have attended our other forums have made new friends and built a community of like-minded people.
- Try fun activities – We do different things each month, from fishing to bowling.
- Learn new skills – Some of our ‘Fellas’ have become successful public speakers after talking at our forums and fairs. Others have taken part in volunteering. It’s a great way to learn about opportunities to get involved in your local area.
- Find support – We invite local services to join the meetings to share how they can support you. Previously we’ve had talks from Mind, Robin Cancer Trust and Gambling Harm UK amongst many others.
The first session:
Our first forum meeting will be at the Essex Sport Arena at the University of Essex on Tuesday 5th May from 6-9pm. Join in with games of badminton and table tennis, followed by some free pizza!
Our Engagement Manager Scott will chat on the night about the forums – including why we’re doing them and exploring how you want this forum to run going forward. We’re always keen to hear your ideas on activities and locations, or topics we can discuss.
You’re advised to wear sports clothing, but badminton and table tennis equipment are provided.
