Winter Wraparound 2026

On Friday 9th January and 23rd January 2026, we’re visiting Laindon Community Centre with a van full of knitted items to give to Laindon residents as our Winter Wraparound returns for 2026!

Knitted hats, scarves, gloves, blankets and children’s jumpers will be available for free. They’re all knitted by another charity, Knit For Peace, which matches knitters with good causes. As well as picking up some warm clothing, people could talk to our staff to get information and guidance on health and social care services or seek support for their caring roles.

Sharon Westfield de Cortez, Information and Guidance Manager at Healthwatch Essex, said:

‘We are delighted to be working with Councillor Jeff Henry again this year to provide the people of Laindon with woolly hats, scarves, gloves and blankets. With temperatures this week already below freezing, it’s important to do what we can to help people in our communities stay warm. Winter woollies are often not affordable with the pressures of providing food and heating, so initiatives like this really do make a difference.’

We look forward to seeing some of you at these events!
