Accessing ADHD Medication: Suffolk and North East Essex Listening and Action Webinar

People in Suffolk and north east Essex have an opportunity to put their questions about recent changes to ADHD care to NHS leaders at a webinar taking place on 4th March 2026.

What is this about?

In January 2025, local medical committees (LMCs) in Suffolk and Essex advised GPs to stop delivering ADHD treatment under shared care agreements. This change shifted responsibility for prescribing, testing, and monitoring ADHD medication back to specialist services.

This has meant that many people with ADHD living in Suffolk and North East Essex (SNEE) faced changes to how they access medication. Recent reports by Healthwatch Suffolk (report link) and Healthwatch Essex (report link) highlight the impact of these changes, including medication issues, increased stress and anxiety, and ongoing uncertainty about care.

In this webinar, we bring together a panel from the SNEE Integrated Care Board to respond to your questions about ADHD prescribing changes. The discussion will also focus on plans to improve ADHD services and pathways for people living with ADHD across the area.

How to join in

You can register for the webinar at: https://events.teams.microsoft.com/event/6ef5271c-db4d-448c-a71b-56a0cdb03da6@0b8bc9f9-4541-40a6-addd-f6ed7610ff00

When registering, please submit questions you would like the panel to consider. We will collate questions in advance and group similar topics to help guide discussions at the event. For example, you may have questions about:

  • What has been done to address issues around medication access in SNEE
  • What kind of support is available to people on the waiting list for an ADHD assessment
  • Upcoming changes to the Integrated Care Boards

While your individual question may not be asked verbatim or answered directly, the panel will aim to cover as many of the key themes raised as it is possible to address during the session.

The session will be hosted on Microsoft Teams. You can join using the Teams app or Teams on the web, and you do not need to create an account. If using the app, please ensure it is downloaded on your device ahead of the webinar. Cameras, microphones and the chat function will be switched off for the duration of the session – so be sure to submit any questions you have when you register.

A summary of key issues and outcomes discussed in the meeting will be available after the event. This will include any pledges made to improve local ADHD care and support. There will also be the opportunity to provide feedback following the session.

If you have questions about the event or have any trouble registering for the Teams webinar, please contact Joe Pearce ([email protected]).
