Healthwatch Essex is excited to announce a new opportunity for local community groups within Mid and South Essex to apply for a micro grant of £100-£500 to support activities that encourage people to attend their breast screening appointments.
Breast screening uptake in some parts of Essex is currently lower than the national average. To help address this, we are offering a micro grant for local community groups to encourage people to attend their breast screening appointments. Community groups are uniquely placed to connect with local residents, provide trusted information, and support conversations around healthcare. This funding is designed to help groups deliver activities that raise awareness and empower individuals to take proactive steps for their health.
We are particularly keen to hear from diverse communities, faith groups, the LGBTQ+ community, lived experience of disability groups and groups within deprived communities, though all local community groups are welcome to apply.
Successful applicants will be asked to share feedback on how the funding was used and any testimonials captured at the time, which will additionally help us understand the impact of community led initiatives.
