With the weather being very mixed this month, the Healthwatch Essex team have still been heading out to events across Essex. After an amazing July, find out which public events the team will attend in August but first, let’s look at this month’s highlights…
In July, we saw the team head across Essex to Healthier Habits Hubs, Colchester University, Kingswood School, Hospitals, and had stalls up in other community events. This month, the team celebrated the release of our latest annual report, showcasing all the amazing things the team has achieved over the past year. The team also celebrated another successful Fella’s Fair at Billericay Town FC, watching some walking football matches, engaging with many members of the public, and watched a pre-season friendly match between Billericay Town and Aldershot Town. We were also seen this month at the SNEE Can Do Awards, where members of the team won some brilliant awards for the impact we have made on health and care in North East Essex!
We also saw our Fella’s Forums out and about this month on another walk and talk, followed by a BBQ at our nearby Healthwatch Essex Office. As well as that, our Colchester Fella’s Forum was seen on Mersea Island, where the fellas got split into teams and went on a treasure hunt with metal detectors. Once again, this was followed by a delicious BBQ cooked by our staff.

9th August – The Hive URC Community Hub Open Day at Southminster United Reform Church, 2pm-5pm
12th August – Wellbeing Community Drop In at The Paddocks, Canvey, 10am-1pm
13th August – Stand at Broomfield Hospital, 10am-2pm
14th August – VCF Event at Harlow Water Gardens, 10.30am-2.30pm
15th August – Maldon U Fest, 11am-4pm
19th August – Wellbeing Community Drop In at The Paddocks, Canvey, 10am-1pm
26th August – Stand at Colchester Hospital, 10am-2pm
27th August – Cardiovascular Event at Clements Hall Leisure Centre in Hawkwell, 4pm-7.30pm
