We are delighted to announce that we are finalists in the Charity Film Awards 2025 for our film ‘Cervical Screening as a Trauma Survivor’! The finalists were decided by public vote, so thank you if you voted for us!
With nearly 1 in 3 people not attending their cervical screening appointments, back in 2023 the Trauma Ambassador Group (TAG) recognised a need to highlight the challenges that trauma survivors may experience.

Working closely with the group, we co-produced a short film to demonstrate the trigger-points for trauma survivors and educate professionals on how appointments could be improved to make patients more comfortable. The film walks through the process of a cervical screening, outlining potential triggering moments during an appointment.
Chloe Dench, Communications Manager at Healthwatch Essex said:
“We are very grateful to everyone who voted for our film in the Charity Film Awards, helping us to raise awareness of the additional barriers those who have experienced trauma face when trying to access cervical screenings. We hope this film raises awareness of the changes individuals can ask for, as well as what professionals can do, to make cervical screenings a more comfortable experience.”
Now it is down to the judges to review the films and decide on the winners of each category. They will announce the winners at a red carpet awards ceremony at indigo at the O2 on Thursday 20 March 2025. Make sure you are following us to stay updated on the results!
