We’ve welcomed a new member to the Healthwatch Essex team, giving us the ability to be more mobile than ever before… meet the brand-new Healthwatch Essex van! It’s all kitted out and ready to get on the road, improving our accessibility, reach, and more.
This van has many different features to improve our outreach:
- A private and comfortable inside space to chat with our Information and Guidance team.
- Room for us to record and film lived experience stories on the go.
- Awning to protect us and our stalls from the elements.
- Space to store all of our freebies.
This van will make us more mobile than ever before, especially when the weather is poor, and enable us to reach every part of the county. We’re planning trips to visit our more rural communities and continue our outreach throughout the winter.
Our new van will help get our experienced Information and Guidance Team to you, helping you access any health, social care and wellbeing services you need, and giving you the chance to share your feedback on services in Essex.
Our Information and Guidance Manager, Sharon Westfield De Cortez, is excited about the possibilities the new van brings, saying:
“We are excited to get out on the road in our new van, which will enable us to be more mobile than ever, reaching communities in every part of the county to offer our bespoke Information & Guidance service.
We warmly welcome contact from agencies, event organisers and communities who would like us to visit them. Having the van means that we can provide a safe and confidential space to engage and converse with people wherever we go.”
So, when you’re next out and about around Essex, or at a local event, look for the Healthwatch Essex van!
