Church Langley Pharmacy Feedback

  1. An extremely upsetting experience

This isn’t my usual pharmacy I just passed it on the way home with a friend after attending Epping hospital. When I handed in my prescription the manager was extremely insistent that I changed to his pharmacy and their collection service. I declined but he forcibly continued to insist and to push their other health services onto me. When I next requested my usual prescription from my doctor it was sent without my permission to this pharmacy as it was now my nominated pharmacy. This had been changed without my permission. I don’t have transport and had to get a taxi to collect my medication. When I explained this in the chemists the same pharmacist came from behind the counter and resumed insisting that they could deliver my prescriptions for me. I again clearly stated I did not want to change my pharmacy. He kept repeating “fine fine fine”. I explained this experience for me was anything but fine. I asked for all items that had been sent to them. The pharmacist handed me three items I said this isn’t all my medication, after a brief search they then found another two items on the shelves and the manager insisted “this was all they had”. I asked him to double check before I left as I had had to come by taxi. The manager dismissively said “this is all we have”. When I returned home by taxi and checked with my surgery I found out that thus pharmacy still had another two important items of my prescription medications on their shelves.

I did not ask for this change of nominated chemist as I don’t have transport I always use the chemist nearest to my home and surgery. I was happy with my nominated usual chemist. This has been an incredibly upsetting inconvenient and expensive experience at a time when I am extremely unwell. I have only just started treatment for a recently diagnosed autoimmune condition. I now have to travel back yet again to get the remaining two important prescription items. I am very upset this has happened to me and no explanation or apology was offered only a dismissive “fine, fine, fine” by the manager. Nothing about this experience was fine. I’m shocked that the manager could do this and wish to make a formal complaint.
