Healthwatch Essex’s Research Ambassador Network are hosting a meeting dedicated to the experiences of young carers. Are you a young person aged 25 or under who helps to care for a family member, relative or friend?
We would love to hear from you about your experiences as a young carer and understand your access to support, information, and services. By participating in this event, you will have the chance to share your experiences and meet other young carers and researchers. You may also find out about more opportunities to have your voice heard to ensure that services and support are developed to meet the needs of the many young people in Essex, like you, who care about others.
If you would like to take part, there will be a range of ways to share your thoughts:
- A 5-10 minute talk about your experiences that you share on the day.
- A recording of your experiences that we will play on the day.
- A written account that we will read out on your behalf.
- A creative piece – such as a drawing or collage – that we will feature on the day.
We want to make sure that you feel comfortable sharing your experiences in whichever way suits you best. We are therefore very happy to meet you before the session to answer any questions that you may and to offer support and reassurance. You will therefore receive a £50 voucher as a sign of our appreciation.
The session will take place online via Zoom on Thursday 29th May from 2-4pm.
If you are interested in getting involved, or would like additional information about this opportunity, please contact Kate Mahoney at [email protected] or 07565189844.
